Just wanted to update you on what’s going on for the remainder of the semester. We are only going to meet 3 more times before the final presentations, so please start asking questions if you get stuck. After discussing the remaining class times left with Rachel, here is what is on tap for the rest of the semester. Pleae e-mail Rachel if you have any questions.

Going through my files this evening, I stumbled upon Blender Magazine issue #4 which deals with character modeling and also has an interesting article on POVRay. I’ve decided to upload the actual issue to the blog so you can check it out.

I’ve also included a link to the web page to get the script and also a link to the post by the creator of the script to a new modification which links MentalRay to Blender, although I think MentalRay is a commercial renderer.

I have not tried it out yet for lack of time, but please share if you are successful with getting it to work.

I’ve added a skin tone grid to the arms out background figure image so that you can use it to pick the color of skin tone for your character before starting to model. Right-click and choose “Save Image As” to save to your hard drive. I’ll follow up with a tutorial later this evening.
